Access::
- Air: there are daily flights from lima (1 hour and 45 minutes approximately) and from Pucallpa (1 hour).
- River: from La Hoyada port in Pucallpa going by the Ucayali River, with some stopovers in Requena and contimana ports.
Iquitos is located on the bank of the Amazon, the widest river in the world. You can get to this city only by plane or boat; it is a tropical city, surrounding the city the region is inhabited by several tribes with different languages and traditions. And their main activities are hunting and fishing.
Nowadays, there are many native communities that keep in contact with the civilization and its average temperature is 28 ºC 36 ºC top and 17 ºC Minimum)

THE IRON HOUSE
Is in front of the main square this house was made in Belgian workshops and was bought at the international exhibition in Paris in 1889 by a rubber businessman.
THE TOURIST OF QUISTOCOCHA
6 Km. South of Iquitos, it has a beautiful lagoon, an artificial beach, museum, an aquarium, a serpent exhibition, little zoos. Treks around the lagoon and lookout.
TARAPACA BOULEVARD
In the border of the city. It offers a beautiful landscape and a magnificent view of the Amazonas river.

THE NATIONAL RESERVE PACAYA-SAMIRIA
The national reserve Pacaya-Samiria is situated 183 km. from Iquitos by the Amazon River. This is the vastest national reserve of the country, the second one in the Amazonas region and the fourth one in South America. This reserve houses a wide biodiversity of fauna and flora its lakes “Cochas” and swamps are inhabilited by endangered species such as the pink dolphin, the manati, the paiche (the biggest river fish in the world) and the charapa turtle, here in Iquitos you will have the chance to interact with the native communities, which are the last native people and maintain their original dialects and customs.
