Several Pre-Hispanic cultures developed in the Lambayeque region. In the outskirts of Chiclayo, the capital of the region, there are many legacies from the Mochica, Sicán and Chimus ethnic Chiclayo is a place where tows of the coast, highland and jungle converge.
PLACES TO VISIT
THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX OF HUACA RAJADA.
Groups two adobe pyramids and a royal mausoleum the most important findings were the intact remains of a high Mochica authority known as the lord of Sipán. This complex is situated 29 km. south east from Chiclayo.
THE SIPAN LORD
Sipán was the most powerful governor of the Mochica kingdom
THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX OF TUCUME
Situated 35 km north from Chiclayo. This place groups 26 pyramids. Túcume is also known as the valley of the pyramids.
PIMENTEL
It is a beautiful and modern seaside resort. That offers the chance to practice water sports like surfing. One can also appreciate the old technique of fishing on reed-mace crafts.
